Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for leadership and expertise in Capital or Treasury management within local government? This is your chance to make an impact in a council based in North West London on a temporary 6-month placement.

Key Details:

Hourly Rate: £38.91 PAYE / £49.63 Umbrella

Working Model: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 remote)

Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension

Your Role:

As the Interim Head of Finance, you'll provide strategic financial leadership, ensuring high-quality financial planning, accounting, and commercial advice. Key responsibilities include:

Leading on financial management for budgets up to £250 million.

Advising senior managers, council members, and key stakeholders.

Managing and motivating a high-performing finance team.

Overseeing the development and compliance of financial policies and statutory reporting.

Leading transformational projects to drive efficiencies and improve financial control.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications: CCAB Qualified Accountant (CIPFA preferred), with extensive post-qualification experience.

Experience:

Proven track record in managing Capital or Treasury functions within local government.

Strong leadership skills, with experience managing diverse teams.

Expertise in financial planning, control, and regulatory compliance in large organisations.

Skills: Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to influence senior decision-makers.
