Job Description

On behalf of our client in Burghfield, Reading M4 Recruitment are looking for a Maintenance Operative to start immediately.

As a Maintenance Operative you will be assisting with testing, maintaining, and performing basic repairs on our temporary accommodation units. This will includes tasks such as basic plumbing, carpentry, fitting blinds, and painting.

Key Duties:

• Safely move cabins around the Reading Depot for testing, repair, storage, and loading/unloading of lorries.
• Ensure work bays are stocked with units for repairs.
• Keep the yard organized and tidy.
• Assist with testing, maintenance, and basic repairs of temporary accommodation units (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, painting).
• Open and close the site as required.

Requirements:

• Forklift Counterbalance experience/ licence- preferred but training can be provided.
• Relevant experience handling and moving cabins.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Locally based candidates are preferred.

The position will be Monday to Friday working from between the hours of 7am-5pm, depending on the time of year. Overtime and Weekends available.

Pay between 14- 16 per hour depending on experience.
