Primary School Cover Supervisor - Dewsbury

PK Education are recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work in our partner primary school in Dewsbury. As a Cover Supervisor you will cover PPA and Management non-contact time as well as providing additional support to small groups of children and young people when required.

The successful applicant needs to be flexible and willing to work across the primary age range from Early Years to Year 6. We would like to hear from committed childcare and special needs professionals who are truly dedicated to enriching the lives of children and young people by providing exciting and stimulating activities that enable all pupils to reach their potential. Applicants must have recent and relevant experience working with young people, and ideally a Level 4 HLTA qualification.

The role of the Cover Supervisor is;

• To promote positive behaviour in line with school behaviour policy, contributing to a successful learning environment.
• To support and extend pupil s learning through questioning, explanation, instructions and demonstrations.
• To cover lesson whilst the main teacher is away assisting pupils with work set from previous lessons and the main class teacher
• To make and maintain learning materials and resources for pupils.
• To observe pupils and feedback to the Class Teacher
• To delivery some literacy and numeracy lessons as well as topic lessons
• Communicate effectively and sensitively with pupils to support their learning.

The successful applicants will:

• Be educated to at least Level 3 or have a relevant qualification and experience in childcare.
• Have experience working as the lead adult in an educational setting.
• Be confident commanding a classroom.
• Be able to manage behavior of the class
• Be available full time Mon-Fri
