Senior Civil/Structural Designer
Contract length: 3 to 6 Months
Location: Winchester ( Hampshire )
Salary: 35 to 45 per hour
Starting date: 03/02/2025
Working hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday - Hybrid with time split between home, the office and occasional visit to live construction site.

As a Senior Technician (Structures), you will be responsible for supporting the preparation, maintenance, and improvement of structural design, ensuring that all projects are executed within the allocated budgets and timelines. You will collaborate closely with contractors, external stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions for structural challenge. You will bring team your expertise in project management, system design, and various software tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.

Initial work will be reviewing existing BIM Models and updating these with construction information to an as-built status.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical design drawings, models, and contract documents for structural projects
• Ensure efficient implementation of maintenance, improvement, and construction projects within established programs and budgets.
• Proven experience in structural design and drafting, particularly in highways and road infrastructure project.
• Collect, assess, and impart critical project information to facilitate successful planning and implementation
• Collaborate with contractors and relevant stakeholders to provide solutions to construction challenges.
• Conduct sites visits to monitor progress and assist in identifying and resolving issues.
• Prepare cost estimates to support budgets assessment and monitoring activities
• Integrate Health and Safety and sustainability considerations into the design and project execution process.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• RQF Level 4 in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience in the design and construction of structural, geotechnical or civil engineering projects.
• Competent in the preparation of structural, geotechnical maintenance or improvement, including the production of detailed drawings and schedules.
• Competent user of CAD software (REVIT, Cvivil 3D, MX, AutoCAD etc) and structural design software (LUSAS etc.)
