A public sector organisation in Birmingham City Centre is seeking an experienced and diligent accountancy contractor to support the finance team.
They are seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join their team on a 3-month contract to set up a fixed asset register from scratch. This is a key role within the finance team, offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact.
Hybrid working (2 days office based).
- Set up and maintain a complete and accurate fixed asset register.
- Classify and record assets in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Develop processes for the ongoing tracking, depreciation, and disposal of assets.
- Liaise with departments to gather information on new asset acquisitions and disposals.
- Reconcile fixed asset records to financial statements and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Provide support in audit processes related to fixed assets.
- Produce periodic reports for management on the status of assets and any discrepancies identified.
