Job Title: Minibus Driver

Location: Kings Norton

Salary: £13.24 per hour

Hours: 20 hours per week (paid for 25 hours)

Start Date: Immediate

Shifts:

• Monday to Thursday: Split shift 7:00 am - 9:00 am and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
• Friday: Split shift 7:00 am - 9:00 am and 2:15 pm - 4:15 pm

About the Role:
SMART Education is currently recruiting for a Minibus Driver on behalf of a well-established special school in Kings Norton. The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children and young adults with special educational needs. This role offers an opportunity to play a vital part in supporting students' day-to-day routines by ensuring safe and reliable transport services.

Essential Qualifications:

• MIDAS training certification
• Proven experience driving larger vehicles, such as vans and minibuses
• Strong understanding of basic vehicle safety protocols
• Experience driving minibuses in a school setting

• Flexibility to manage assigned shifts
• Strong organisational skills to maintain accurate administrative records
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Clear and effective communication skills in English, essential for interactions with parents, students, colleagues, and the wider community

Desired Qualities:

• Enthusiasm for additional training opportunities
• Willingness to maintain MIDAS certification during employment
• Participation in school-provided training, including relevant MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) training
• Previous experience in Advanced Driver Training

Requirements:

• Valid category D1 driving license with no more than six penalty points
• Commitment to ongoing relevant training
• Completed Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service)
