Student Support Officer

Location: Chesterfield (S41)

Pay: 95 - 120 per day

Role Type: Full Time, Long Term to Permanent

Long Term Futures are currently working in collaboration with a mainstream secondary school in Chesterfield (S41) to appoint a Student Support Officer. The job holder will work within the pastoral team to provide support for young people who are facing challenges that impact their academic progress, wellbeing and behaviour.

Role Responsibilites:

• Maintain accurate attendance records, monitor punctuality, and address absences promptly.
• Plan and deliver engaging intervention sessions to support students who are disengaged from mainstream learning.
• Prepare resources to support individual and group learning needs.
• Actively contribute to the development and success of the student support team.
• Keep detailed and accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and interventions.
• Provide structured guidance and mentoring to assigned students.
• Collaborate with the pastoral team to maintain communication with students' families and external agencies.
• Utilise a range of strategies to improve student confidence, well-being, and academic achievement.
• Set clear behaviour expectations and promote a positive school environment.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and families.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral role.
• Ability to work effectively with students with additional support needs.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute to positive outcomes for students.
