As Project Manager (Power Systems) you will play a key role in the transition to a low carbon energy future within the Network Projects (NP) team. The NP team are responsible for new 400 kV, 220 kV and 110 kV station and circuit projects as well as upgrade and refurbishment projects on the existing network. You will work from the Dublin office up to 2 days a week, with requirement to attend site when necessary. As Project Manager you will be leading significant infrastructure delivery programmes aligned with the business strategy to deliver a broad range of projects in support of the 2030 Climate Action Plan.
As Project Manager you will be responsible for:
Ensure a clear understanding of goals and objectives;
Ability to inspire and motivate self and staff, and maintain alignment with our business strategy will be key to success in the role;
Managing lead consultant to deliver required deliverables within the agreed timeframe;
Identifying and managing Stakeholders, and ensuring regular and timely communications at all levels;
Ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders;
Ability to analyse issues, exercising judgement to make decisions and drive delivery of large infrastructure projects;
Ability to establish a robust Health & Safety culture across the team and cascade it down the supply chain.
Managing Risks and Issues and escalate appropriately;
Preparing and maintaining project documentation including, Programmes, Project reports, Risk Register, Issue Register, Daily Log, etc.;
Managing Change Control procedures and Programme Governance and ensuring Project Boards are set up and working effectively; and
Adhere to company policies, guidelines and standards in relation to Project Management.To be considered for this Project Manager role you will have:
Engineering degree/ technically biased degree, typically with 5+ years relevant experience.
Power system industry expertise, utilities / construction experience along with the ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands;
Experience of Land Owner Agreements and / or Ground Site Investigation works.
Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop, communicate and "sell" programme objectives;
High degree of political sensitivity, astuteness and the ability to work across all levels of our organisation to achieve programme success and overcome potential obstacles;
Knowledge of the industry, environment and context, experience working within a similar regulated utility environment and/or experience introducing new concepts, processes and ways of doing things would be beneficial;
Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
Commercial awareness with the ability to make decisions and recommendations in all aspects of project implementation; and
