This locum position, with the potential to transition into a permanent role, offers a competitive hourly rate of £20.01.
The main purpose of this role is to is to support and motivate staff in achieving outcomes and meeting targets within a payment-by-results initiative focused on preventing or relieving homelessness among single refugee individuals. This involves meticulous analysis of data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and the production of comprehensive reports. Additionally, responsibilities include building and managing relationships with landlords in the private sector, expanding the housing inventory, fostering connections throughout the council, overseeing referrals, managing financial transactions and budgets, and ensuring accurate data input and monitoring.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in managing teams within a social care or homeless services environment. Strong leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve outstanding results. The role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement effective service delivery plans, ensuring that the highest standards of care and support are maintained.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, managing staff performance, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. The successful candidate will also be adept at building relationships with external partners and stakeholders, enhancing the service’s reach and effectiveness.
Essential skills and experience required:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within homeless services
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with resilience and empathy
- Proven track record of successfully managing a team, covering tasks such as conducting inductions, providing supervision, fostering motivation, delivering training, and addressing grievance issues with professionalism and effectiveness.
-Demonstrate knowledge, experience or relevant qualifications in housing and homelessness legislation, the Homelessness Reduction Act and Housing Act.
