The worker will be an integral member of the Children’s Centre Team, operating across a network of four children’s centres within the localities of Burnage, Old Moat, Fallowfield, and Whalley Range. They will play a key role in delivering an efficient, professional, and welcoming service to all users of the centres. The role involves working job-share hours towards the end of the week, specifically on Wednesday afternoons and full days on Thursdays and Fridays, providing critical support to families and children in the community.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outreach Worker who:
* Possesses substantial experience and a strong understanding of early years education, including in-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
* Has a proven track record of working closely with families and children under the age of five, collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide targeted and comprehensive support.
* Demonstrates the ability to work at the frontline with professionalism and high-quality service delivery. They should be capable of adopting an assertive, whole-family approach when required, ensuring the needs of both children and their families are met.
* Is skilled at identifying and delivering tailored packages of support to help improve family outcomes and ensure children meet their developmental milestones.
* Has the capacity to maintain and operate effective systems for managing and retrieving information. This includes the use of digital tools and software to track family progress and document outcomes in a thorough and organized manner.
* Can offer practical and empathetic support to families facing a variety of challenges, such as housing issues, child protection concerns, or barriers to accessing training, volunteering, or employment opportunities.
* Excels in communication, demonstrating excellent verbal and written skills to engage with families, team members, and external agencies effectively.
