This company are currently operating supported housing services for rehabilitating ex-offenders that have left a prison setting. The service ensures the instilling of independent living skills, positive wellbeing and personal development within ex-offenders, working towards their bettering of life and prevention of repeat offending.
The Opportunities: - Senior Support Workers will be working full-time; 35hrs occasionally Saturday with Monday off. Late and early shifts patterns. 8-4pm and 2-10pm.
- After 12-weeks in assignment, you will be paid for 40-hours (including paid break) per week.
- Competitive pay rates; Senior Support Workers are paid £19.15 (Umbrella), per hour. You will also be paid £0.45 per mile for travel between services.
- Contract length will be 3-months before prospective extension and/or permanence.
- You will be based across multiple projects across the East of England, including Southend, Ipswich, Colchester, Chelmsford and Norwich
- Administration work can be completed in a flexible location, with state-of-the-art IT equipment provided for all work.
The Responsibilities: The role of the Senior Support Worker is to provide support to support worker to ensure they are promoting independent living together with high quality housing and property management to residents in a group of properties in a designated geographical area.
This will include completing checklist and audits to ensure staff are Inducting residents into the property, conducting risk assessments and work with the service user to create an individual, strength-based Support Plan. There will be two support sessions per week in the first two weeks of residence, and one per week thereafter.
Additionally support will include measures that will support service users to comply with their bail, HDC and other orders/license conditions which will enable them to reduce the likelihood of further offending or a breach of their license condition. This will also involve monitoring compliance with criminal justice conditions and requirements, reporting breach incidents and completion of relevant documentation to statutory agencies.
Also supporting the Service Lead in ensuring contract requirement and daily management of the team. Completing property visits, auditing files and other additional duties.
Must be flexible and willing to travel within the East of England South as per business needs. To complete the staff rota to ensure cover is provided within the team from 8am-10pm. Candidate should be computer literate as it is a paperless company.
The Requirements: - Senior Housing Support Worker s must be someone with a valid driver s license and access to a vehicle, and either already have or obtain business/commercial insurance for said vehicle.
- Experience in supporting clients / service-users with complex needs is essential.
- Proactive and able to use their own initiative to manage a caseload.
- Previous experience or knowledge of social/supported housing processes is essential.
- The ability to support others in their tenancy sustainment and income management.
- Enhanced DBS (Adults) is essential and then will complete HMPPS clearance.
The Desirables: - Relevant training to housing or health and social care.
- Over 3 years experience within a relevant position i.e., Support Worker.
- Understanding of housing law and framework relevant to those with complex needs.
