Quantity Surveyor (QS) – Large-Scale Hospitality, Leisure & Hotel Project, Oxfordshire

This is a tempoary contract and the day rate is dependent on the candidate and thier skill set.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team, working on a prestigious large-scale hospitality, leisure, and hotel project in the heart of Oxfordshire. With a project value exceeding £5 million, this role is ideal for an accomplished QS with a proven track record in managing high-value commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

•Lead the procurement process, including tender preparation, evaluation, and appointment of subcontractors and suppliers.

•Administer contracts, monitor compliance, and resolve contractual disputes in collaboration with the project team.

•Conduct regular valuations, assess variations, and ensure accurate cost reporting to stakeholders.

•Identify potential risks, provide mitigation strategies, and ensure financial contingencies are appropriately planned.

•Work closely with the project management team, architects, and contractors to ensure the project meets quality, time, and budgetary targets.

Candidate Requirements

•Minimum 5 years' experience in quantity surveying, with a strong focus on large-scale commercial construction projects exceeding £5m in value.

•Previous experience in hospitality, leisure, or hotel development projects is highly desirable.

•Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional membership (e.g., RICS or CIOB) is a strong advantage.

Skills:

o Exceptional numerical and analytical abilities.

o Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC forms of contract.

o Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

o Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Software Proficiency: Competency in relevant software tools such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar.
