About the Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Great Yarmouth, you will play a key role in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, who may also have learning challenges such as dyslexia, ADHD, or autism. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a nurturing, supportive, and engaging environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is patient, empathetic, and able to remain calm in the face of challenging behaviour. Your ability to build strong relationships with pupils, encourage their confidence, and support their development will make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support for students with SEMH needs in Great Yarmouth, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Assist with the delivery of creative and engaging lessons, ensuring every pupil feels included and supported.
Implement behaviour strategies and promote positive interactions.
Work 1:1 and in small groups to support students with additional challenges such as dyslexia and ADHD.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to develop personalised support plans.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
