Commercial Lead

Contract Length: Until 31st December 2025

Rate: Up to £60 p/h (Outside IR35)

Location: Hull

Carbon60 is actively recruiting for a Commercial Lead with extensive experience in contract management, quantity surveying, and cost control to support a high-profile project in the petrochemical sector in Hull this is ideal role a strong commercial lead based in Hull or surrounding areas such as York,Leeds and Sheffield . This is a key role for ensuring robust financial governance, cost efficiency, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Timely submission of Applications for Payment (AFP), ensuring accuracy and alignment with contract terms.

Lead change order management throughout the construction lifecycle, negotiating and reconciling changes to ensure data accuracy.

Provide cost planning and forecasting while informing engineering priorities based on financial impact.

Perform quantity surveying activities, including valuations, cost audits, and variation assessments.

Track and manage contingency budgets, ensuring alignment with the scope of work and approvals through client-specific systems.

Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, including forecasts and contract reviews, meeting company deadlines.

Develop comprehensive financial reports with a focus on forecasting and budget management.

Highlight trends through exception reporting and propose enhancements to financial processes.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

Similar commercial lead or quantity surveying role, ideally within a contracting organisation.

Engineering or commercial qualification

Strong experience in the petrochemical sector or related industries.

Familiarity with SAP or other project controls software (desirable).

Evidence of dispute resolution experience (advantageous).

Professional membership (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is desirable.
