The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for a Graduate Electrical Engineer who is looking to take the next steps into a Junior position with a great company, offering invaluable experience within the nuclear sector.
Employment Type: Contract – 12 months+
This role has been deemed inside IR35
Your duties and responsibilities will be
To undertake work packages for nuclear, marine, and O&G clients from Glasgow office.
Team player ability; taking the lead on assigned project tasks and allowing others to lead as appropriate.
Good communicator; providing feedback of technical development and project delivery to the Lead Engineer and the Project Manager.
Ability to manage own time and to deliver within agreed timescales, target cost and quality standards, requiring minimum supervision.
Actively seeks guidance and knowledge where required to augment personal and project goals.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Minimum 2:1 BEng qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Master level qualifications are preferable.
A minimum of 3 years design engineering.
Working level experience of the European standards is desirable, for example Eurocode 3.
Familiar with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and/or Catia CAD software.
Familiar with FEA and preferably a user level experience of ANSYS Workbench and Space claim. It’s great if you also have the following
An appreciation for mechanical, electrical and structural engineering.
A strong mathematical background and experience of MathCAD software is desirable.
An appreciation for the engineering design cycle of mechanical designs from Concept through to Manufacture.
Responsible for the production of engineering calculations, FEA, CAD and drawings.The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
