Job Description: Unqualified RS (Religious Studies) / Citizenship Teacher / SEMH Teacher

Position Type: Monday to Friday contract post
Daily Rate: £130 - £160 a day (depending on experience)
Thriving & innovative Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in the Borough of Greenwich is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Unqualified RS (Religious Studies) and Citizenship Teacher or SEMH Teacher. This is a Monday to Friday ongoing long-term contract to start straight away.
This successful Unqualified RS Teacher (Religious Studies) / Citizenship Teacher / SEMH Teacher has experience teaching and supporting students with a range of needs, including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), and challenging behaviour. The successful unqualified will be responsible for delivering high-quality UK Curriculum education to Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) students.
Class sizes are small, typically up to 7 children and young people. You would be supported by a number of Behaviour Teaching Assistants in your class.
Strong knowledge and passion for Religious Studies and Citizenship.
Experience working as either an unqualified RS and Citizenship teacher or SEMH Teacher who has covered at least one of these subjects.
Experience working with students with ASD, SEMH, and behavioural challenges is highly desirable within a classroom setting.
You live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich.
You have an enhanced DBS or able to put a new one in process ASAP.
Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the varying needs of students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging RS and Citizenship lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students with ASD, SEMH, and behavioural challenges.
Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic and personal development.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behaviour.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect and understanding of diverse perspectives.
