We are looking for a motivated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide supervision and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher. You will be responsible for ensuring that lessons are carried out effectively, providing a safe and focused environment for students to engage with the work set. This is an important role that helps maintain the continuity of learning and supports the smooth operation of the school.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the leadership team to ensure students remain on task, maintain good behavior, and are encouraged to complete their work to the best of their ability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise students in lessons when the regular teacher is absent, ensuring the delivery of pre-prepared work.
• Manage student behavior in line with the school s behavior policies, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
• Provide support and guidance to students during the lesson, helping them to understand and complete their tasks.
• Monitor and report on students' progress, behavior, and engagement during cover lessons.
• Ensure the classroom is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and order.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure the smooth running of the school day.
• Assist with the preparation and distribution of learning materials if required.
• Support students with their personal development, providing a positive role model and promoting school values.
• Provide pastoral support and handle minor incidents or issues in accordance with school policy.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with secondary school-aged students, ideally in a classroom setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and manage students effectively.
• An understanding of behavior management strategies and the ability to implement them consistently.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
• A positive and flexible attitude, with a commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of students.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to child welfare.
• A level of education equivalent to GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C or above), or a relevant qualification.
