Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Bournemouth supporting students who have social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who require additional support, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one or small group support for students with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
• Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
• Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting students in developing key life skills and building their confidence.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.

What We're Looking For:

• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
• Experience working with children with SEN/SEM (desirable but not essential).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications:

• GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or SEN (desirable).
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
