Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) Birmingham Ongoing Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic team providing telephone triage services for individuals experiencing eating disorders, psychosis, perinatal mental health concerns, and urgent care needs.

Role Details:

• Job Title: Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN)
• Band: 6
• Location: Birmingham (50% remote)
• Duration: 3 months (ongoing)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM 5 PM
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay Rate: £26 per hour

What You ll Be Doing:
As a Community Psychiatric Nurse specialising in telephone triage, you'll play a crucial role in assessing and supporting individuals during some of their most vulnerable moments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting telephone triages to assess the mental health needs of individuals struggling with eating disorders, psychosis, perinatal issues, and urgent mental health concerns.
• Providing timely and compassionate support, offering advice, guidance, and signposting to appropriate services based on clinical assessments.
• Carrying out risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, identifying any immediate concerns and escalating where necessary.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans tailored to each individual's unique needs and circumstances.
• Offering a listening ear and clinical expertise to help patients feel supported and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

What We re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you ll need:

• A valid NMC registration as a mental health nurse.
• Proven experience in community-based mental health care or triage settings.
• Excellent communication and assessment skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• The confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider multidisciplinary team.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered care.
