I am currently looking to fill a contract assignment for a Midlands-based Local Authority who are looking to hire an Interim SEN Tribunal Officer.

6 Month contract
5 Days per week
£400 per day
Fully remote
Inside IR35

Interviews are to be held w/c 3rd February 2025
In your role as a SEN Tribunal Officer, you will be working within the SEN Tribunals & Resolution team and reporting to the SEN Inclusion Manager.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have a proven track record working as a Tribunal Officer within a local authority setting, along with experience of presenting at appeals and a good knowledge of SEN/D & the SEND Code of Practice.
Your role as SEN Tribunal Officer:-
You will manage a very active caseload and on a daily basis you will work to identify issues, provide resolution or escalate complex problems if necessary.
You will represent the Local Authority at SEND Tribunal Appeal hearings and mediations, including drafting all pleadings and managing any follow up case work.
Drafting and coordinating complaint responses made to the SEN team about individual cases
Investigating specific complaints and resolving a caseload of complaints
Essential Skills & Abilities
Experience working within SEN tribunals, within a Local Authority setting
Experience of representing a local authority at tribunals
Must have a good knowledge of SEND and SEN legislation and be able to write well, as you will be drafting responses
Good knowledge of SEN complaints process
