Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Tutor to join our team, specialising in Maths, Science, English, and Islamic Studies. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to helping students improve their academic performance by providing personalised, one-on-one or small group tutoring. The role requires a passion for teaching, strong knowledge of the subjects, and the ability to create a positive learning environment that supports student success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions in Maths, Science, English, and Islamic Studies for students of various academic levels.
* Assess students’ strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles to create tailored lesson plans that meet individual needs.
* Provide clear explanations of complex concepts and encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.
* Help students develop skills for exam preparation, including test-taking strategies and time management.
* Track students' progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their academic goals.
* Foster a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
* Assist students with homework, assignments, and projects in each subject area.
* Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on progress and discuss areas for improvement.
* Prepare educational resources, exercises, and activities to reinforce key concepts and enhance learning.
* Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes and educational best practices for Maths, Science, English, and Islamic Studies.
* Maintain accurate records of sessions, student attendance, and performance.
Qualifications:
* A relevant degree or qualification in Maths, Science, English, or Islamic Studies (or equivalent).
* Proven experience in tutoring or teaching in the above subjects.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of the curriculum in Maths, Science, English, and Islamic Studies.
* Ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
* Patient, empathetic, and supportive, with a focus on student-centred learning.
* Organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
* Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting.
* Knowledge of specific examination boards or curricula (e.g., GCSE, A-Level).
* Safeguarding certification (or a willingness to obtain one).
