Senior Social Worker – Family Support & Safeguarding Team

Position: Senior Social Worker

Team: Family Support & Safeguarding

Location: Lewisham, South London (Hybrid Working)

Hourly Rate: £38.50 per hour

Contract: 3 Month Rolling Contract

Lewisham Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Family Support & Safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a complex caseload, providing high-quality support to children and families.

Undertake assessments and develop tailored support plans for families in need of safeguarding interventions.

Lead on child protection and safeguarding cases, ensuring compliance with legislation.

Provide supervision and mentoring to junior social workers and staff within the team.

Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure holistic support for families.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and attend multi-agency meetings as required.

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration.

Experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a sound understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., Children Act 1989/2004).

Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and work under pressure.
