Position: Senior Social Worker
Team: Family Support & Safeguarding
Location: Lewisham, South London (Hybrid Working)
Hourly Rate: £38.50 per hour
Contract: 3 Month Rolling Contract

Lewisham Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Family Support & Safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a complex caseload, providing high-quality support to children and families.
• Undertake assessments and develop tailored support plans for families in need of safeguarding interventions.
• Lead on child protection and safeguarding cases, ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to junior social workers and staff within the team.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure holistic support for families.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and attend multi-agency meetings as required.

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration.
• Experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a sound understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., Children Act 1989/2004).
• Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and work under pressure.
