Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a commercial property environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role to work as part of the Building Services Team on electrical services response maintenance work and, when directed, on electrical engineering elements of the planned programme and capital works under the direction of the Building Services Manager.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Conducting electrical response maintenance and overseeing planned maintenance works.
• Leading and directing multi-disciplinary design teams for capital projects.
• Carrying out or commissioning condition surveys and supporting clients in line with Service Level Agreements.
• Liaising with Council officers, Schools, Academies, Premise Managers/Duty Holders, contractors, consultants, and external agencies.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will require:

• A relevant electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• Experience working within a local authority or commercial property environment.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Experience managing electrical projects from feasibility to completion.
• Strong knowledge of compliance and safety regulations in commercial buildings.
• Ability to conduct and interpret condition surveys and manage contractor relationships.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering 40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. 32 per hour PAYE).
