Our client is currently seeking an experienced Interim Head of Service with a strong background in highways to join a dynamic team. This role is crucial in overseeing and managing the comprehensive delivery of highway services in the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames.

• Providing strategic leadership and management of the highway services
• Ensuring the efficient delivery of highway maintenance, improvement projects, and safety initiatives
• Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programmes related to highway operations
• Managing budgets and resources to ensure cost-effective service delivery
• Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve service objectives
• Monitoring service performance and implementing improvement plans as necessary
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards
• Communicating effectively with the public, elected members, and partner organisations

• Experience in highway services management and operations
• Strong knowledge of highway policies, procedures, and best practices
• Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for highway services
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline
