Hiring for Full time position working directly with US Air Force and Veterans Units: Med/Surg: 12-hour shifts, with alternating weekend shifts preferred Long-Term Care/Nursing Home: 12-hour shifts, with alternating weekend shifts preferred Psychiatric/Mental Health: 12-hour shifts, with alternating weekend shifts preferred Primary Care/Specialty Clinics: 8-10 hour shifts Benefits: 10 days PTO 11 Federal holidays 56 hours of sick time Requirements: At least 2 years of current experience as LPN (must have worked within the last six months) in the specialty of choice. Candidates may be required to work with COVID-19 positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID-19. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the LPN will work closely with other team members in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas and Primary Care settings across the Charleston VA and surrounding Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. The LPN will function both independently and dependently, with guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager or designee. Active, current registration as a professional nurse in any U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory is required. Nurses may be utilized as needed in Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas, ambulatory/outpatient care clinics, and outpatient labs. Knowledge and skill sufficient to prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications, including oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous, as permitted by local facility policies and procedures. EDUCATION: Required to be a graduate of a state approved school of practical/vocational nursing. CERTIFICATION: A current, unrestricted LPN license from any U.S. state is required. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, accredited by the American Heart Association, is required.
