Job Advert: Production Operative DS Smith Devizes

Role Title: Production Operative
Location: DS Smith Packaging, Mill Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 3EW
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts Mornings (06:00-14:00), Afternoons (14:00-22:00), and Nights (22:00-06:00)
Hours: 38 hours per week (40 hours per week for night shifts)
Duration: Initial 3-month contract, with potential extension to 6 months
Pay Rate: £13.61 per hour (increasing to £14.13 per hour after 12 weeks)

Overtime Rates: £20.42ph Sat AM and £27.22ph Sat Night/Sun for the first 12 weeks)

About the Role:

We are looking for motivated and reliable Production Operatives to join our team at DS Smith in Devizes. You will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality packaging products. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable company with the potential for contract extension.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate machinery to produce packaging products for DS Smith s clientele

• Maximise efficiency and minimise downtime

• Meet productivity and performance targets set by management

• Maintain consistent quality standards

• Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance in line with schedules

• Label and stack products onto pallets

• Scan products and maintain accurate inventory records

• Follow Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)

• Comply with UK Health and Safety legislation at all times

Experience & Skills Required:

Essential:

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Good understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation

• A team player with a motivated and quality-conscious approach

• Physically capable of manual handling and being on your feet for long periods

Desirable:

• FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence
