Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1-1 SEND Teaching Assistant on a full time, long term basis to support a KS1 pupil with Complex Needs and Challenging Behaviour at a lovely mainstream primary school in NG16, Nottingham.

This is a full time, long term role starting ASAP!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities to students with SEMH & SEN.
• Provide one-on-one support and small group interventions to students.
• Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in line with school policies and best practices.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes students' social and emotional development.
• Monitor and track students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure students' needs are met.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of personalized learning plans for students.
• Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience working with students with SEMH & SEND (ASD, ADHD, Complex Needs, Dyslexia) needs in a school setting, we also welcome applications from individuals new to this sector that have transferable skills from roles such as Youth Work, Family Support Worker and Children s Residential Support Worker.
• Strong understanding of SEMH needs and best practices in supporting students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students facing challenges.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or related fields are desirable.

Pay - £84.77-£90 per day (you must have 3 years' experience working with SEMH Needs to qualify for the higher end of the scale)
