Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Strip and build of prototype transmissions, following prototype build manuals with support from the engineering team
• Identify and implement improvements in build processes and learning for future phases
• Fault finding of transmission build and manufacturing issues
• Strip and inspect unfamiliar transmissions without instruction
• Have a fundamental understanding of different transmission types, functions, and components
• Carry out instrumentation and modifications of test units as per engineering requests
• Raise issues found during build and participate in subsequent 8D reports
• Understand and adhere to storage/part picking processes with assistance from engineering teams
• Maintain good housekeeping of facilities and workshops

• Extensive experience with a large range of complex assemblies in a prototype build environment
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and validate manufactured parts quality
• Familiarity with accurate measurement techniques, supporting bespoke build characteristics (Manual or CMM)
• Experience in fabrication/modification on bespoke hardware
  • Machining experience including lathe, mill, pillar drill, welding, etc.
• Good mechanical understanding of prototype build processes and ability to identify design and manufacturing faults

• Excellent troubleshooting skills with a logical mindset
• Self-motivated and resilient
• Ability to work flexibly to achieve deadlines
• Capacity to tackle unfamiliar tasks with limited guidance or supervision
