This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join a large and growing finance team in Solihull. This role is heavily focused on reporting and requires a strong understanding of Excel, particularly in creating and editing V-Lookups. The manager of this team is highly skilled in Excel and is eager to provide additional training to help the successful candidate develop their technical skills even further.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing financial reports and assisting with data analysis.
• Performing reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy.
• Utilising Excel for reporting, including creating and editing V-Lookups.
• Handling cash allocations and resolving queries related to the sales ledger.
• Supporting the finance team with month-end processes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting and data efficiency.
• Collaborating with other finance functions to ensure smooth operations.

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

• Strong Excel skills, with experience creating and editing V-Lookups.
• Previous experience in a sales ledger role (cash allocations, reconciliations, query resolution).
• Passion for data and reconciliations, with an interest in progressing into an analyst role.
• A degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent qualification (such as AAT).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to start immediately or within a short notice period.
