Job Description

Location: Remote (After Initial 1-week on-site familiarisation in Oxfordshire)

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team on a contract basis to contribute to the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on with a dynamic and collaborative team during an exceptionally busy time.

This contract role offers 100% remote working after an initial familiarisation period on-site in Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop mechanical assemblies, mechanisms, and components

* Produce detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings using Siemens NX

* Work with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.

* Participate in design reviews, feasibility studies, and engineering calculations

* Use PLM systems to manage design data and documentation (Teamcenter)

* Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to support product development

Key Requirements:

* Proficiency in Siemens NX & Teamcenter PLM – Essential

* Strong experience in detailing assemblies and mechanisms

* Ability to work independently on complex mechanical designs

* Engineering background with a proven track record in similar roles

The Opportunity:

This long-term contract (anticipated 12 months) is outside IR35, offering flexibility and a competitive hourly rate (£40 - £55/hr, DOE). You’ll be working on interesting projects in a dynamic engineering environment.
