Year 6 Teaching Assistant - Walthamstow, Waltham Forest

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting KS2 pupils? Do you have the skills to help Year 6 students reach their full potential in the lead-up to SATs? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Walthamstow, Waltham Forest. This full-time role starts in February 2025 and offers a starting daily pay rate of £90-£95 PAYE.

The Role:

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils through their final year of primary education.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities.

Providing targeted support to pupils, including those who may need additional help with literacy and numeracy.

Running small intervention groups to reinforce key learning objectives and boost confidence ahead of SATs.

Offering pastoral support to ensure students feel motivated and engaged in their learning.

Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience supporting KS2 pupils, ideally in a Year 6 setting.

A good understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with different learning needs.

A genuine passion for education and helping young learners succeed.
