PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project description:
The Client are collaborating to construct a state-of-the-art factory for electric car battery components in the port of Gijón, Spain. This project aims to advance the production of sustainable and high-performance battery materials, contributing to the future of electric mobility.
Department Description and responsibilities?
As E&I Lead Engineer you are responsible for controlling the scope, budget, timing and quality of the technology packages appointed to you within the different projects, including the correct integration of your technology packages in the whole scope of the project.
Primary Tasks and responsibilities ?
- Lead the electrical and instrumentation engineering team in the design and development of electrical systems and instrumentation for the battery component factory.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and instrumentation systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, process engineers, and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and implement maintenance and reliability programs for electrical systems and instrumentation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for electrical engineering projects.
- Provide technical expertise and support during the procurement of electrical equipment and materials. -
Technical profile requirements ?
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in the automotive or battery manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and various instrumentation devices.
- Experience with sensors, transmitters, control valves, and other instrumentation equipment.
- Proficiency in using design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB) and familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Methodology/Certification requirements ?
- Master's degree Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent through experience.
Language proficiencies ?
- Fluent in Spanish & English speaking and writing.
- Has practical English language skills to read and understand technical documents and to conduct technical & safety discussions.
Location:
- North of Spain, region of Asturia: Gijon
- Until end of 2026/beginning 207 remote work, with visits to the site/partners covered via business travel expenses
Business Travel:
- Travel will be required inside (mainly Barcelona) and outside Spain
- Expenses reimbursed via Expense sheet
Contract:
- Long term collaboration envisioned
- Start: as soon as possible, notice periods can be considered

- Market-level Rates for Spain
- All-in Rates
- no expenses allowed except pre-approved business travel
