Autism Support Assistant SEN school in Nuneaton

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term( Monday-Friday 8.30-3.30)
Start Date: After Febuary half term
Salary: £90 £115 per day (dependant on experience)

We are currently seeking a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join a SEN provision in Nuneaton, working full-time, long-term. In this role, you will support students with autism both in the resource provision on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism, ensuring they access the curriculum and engage in learning.
• Support students in lessons, assisting them with key subjects.
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure the students needs are met and their progress is tracked.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Key Requirements:

• A strong awareness and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly autism.
• Passion for supporting students and a commitment to making a positive impact on their educational experience.
• Resilience and adaptability in managing the diverse challenges that may arise in the classroom.
• A solid understanding of the secondary school curriculum and the ability to support students in core subjects.
• Previous experience working with students with SEND or additional needs is highly desirable.
