Job Description

Our client, a leading local authority, is currently seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join their team on a contractual basis.

• Managing and evaluating planning applications in accordance with regulatory frameworks
• Engaging in development management activities to ensure effective and sustainable planning solutions
• Providing expert advice and support on town planning issues to stakeholders and internal departments
• Preparing and presenting reports for planning committees and other related meetings
• Conducting thorough site visits and assessments as part of the planning application process
• Liaising with developers, consultants, and the public to facilitate successful planning outcomes
• Ensuring compliance with planning legislation, policies, and procedures
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of planning laws and regulations

• Extensive experience in development management and town planning
• Strong understanding of planning legislation, policies, and procedures
• Proficiency in managing and evaluating complex planning applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or related field
