1:1 Teaching Assistant - ASD Support (Greenwich, SE8)

Location: Greenwich, London SE8
Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a mainstream primary school in Greenwich, SE8.

The Role:

• Providing one-to-one support to a child with ASD, ensuring they can access learning in a positive and structured environment.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
• Supporting the child's communication, social skills, and emotional regulation.
• Assisting with structured learning activities and sensory-friendly interventions.
• Encouraging independence and confidence in learning and daily routines.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with ASD in a primary school setting.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
• Strong understanding of EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and SEN staff.
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
