Job Title: Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist Band 6

Location: Berkshire

Duration: 6 months with review for extension

Schedule: Monday – Sunday, between 9:00 - 20:00 (37.5 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

Rate of Pay: £25 - 26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You’ll Be Doing: Join our team as a Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist and play a key role in supporting the service. In this role, you will:

Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures within the Blood Transfusion department

Interpret and report results for clinical teams

Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment

Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and quality standards

Requirements & Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:

A current and valid HCPC registration

An IBMS-accredited degree (preferable)

At least 6-12 months of experience in an NHS Blood Transfusion laboratory

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A commitment to delivering high-quality laboratory services

Working Hours & Contract Duration: This role offers a flexible working position requiring availability from Monday to Sunday, 37.5 hours, 9:00 - 20:00. The contract is for 6 months, with a review for extension based on performance and service needs.
