Job Advert - Site-Based Mechanical Maintenance & Service Engineer

Location: Moderna Innovation and Technology Centre, Perimeter Road, Harwell, OX11 0GN

Start Date: ASAP

Working Hours: 08:00 - 17:00 (Monday to Friday)

Pay Rate: £21.15 per hour

Contract: Temp to Perm or Temp Only

Pre-Employment Checks: Basic DBS Required (BPSS Check)

We are looking for a Static Shift Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join our team at Harwell's Moderna Innovation and Technology Centre. This site is responsible for pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, including clean rooms, laboratories, and plant rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) in line with maintenance schedules

Work on pumps, AHUs, water systems, including L8 compliance

Conduct HVAC maintenance, electrical fault finding, and lighting repairs

Maintain site equipment, including generators, air conditioning systems, and BMS systems

Respond to reactive maintenance tasks and plant faults efficiently

Supervise subcontractors and ensure work meets required standards

Complete all relevant paperwork and reports using the CAFM system

Ensure site health & safety compliance and maintain clean plant rooms

Requirements:

Recognised industry qualifications in mechanical engineering

Previous experience in a similar role

Strong knowledge of HVAC, water treatment, and building services

Good IT and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexible and adaptable, with a full clean driving licence preferred

Willing to participate in an out-of-hours standby rota
