Battery Validation Engineer
Peterborough / HYBRID working
Initial 12 month contract – likely to extend for the right person!
37 hours a week (Mon – Fri 08:30-16:45, some flexibility around start/finish times)
Competitive rate (umbrella and PAYE)
We’re working on great contract opportunity for a Battery Validation Engineer to join a global renowned off highway manufacturer based in Peterborough (there’s flexibility around WFH). You’ll work on new and innovative products, this is an excellent opportunity with a Fortune 100 company!
As a Validation Engineer in the Electrification and Energy Solutions Battery Development team, you’ll be involved in the creation and development of detailed battery pack test plans based upon program technical objectives (System requirements), legislation requirements & risk assessments (DFMEAs).
What will the Battery Validation Engineer do?
Contribute to the identification of system requirements/maintenance through projects
Work with internal & external test providers to finalise plans, document tests & schedules
Ensure testing completes as per the requirements with the necessary documentation, to ensure completion of technical files & enable certification of the product
Fault find any issues and assist with root cause investigation, working with other teams across the division to solve issues
Manage + maintain risk assessments (DFMEAs), update a risk reduction glidepath (to production)
Create and maintain the system or sub-system level validation plans
Develop and maintain battery test procedures
Support the management of testbed and in-field validation identified issues
Communicate validation information & status both internally and externally to customers
Develop and maintain a keen understanding of internal and external customers' needs
Keep up to date on new battery technologies, testing techniques & legislation requirements
What skills and experience will the Battery Validation Engineer need?
2 or more years of high voltage battery validation experience with good fundamental battery system knowledge, ability to create detailed test specifications and technical documentation
Data analysis skills to assist test sign off and fault-finding issues
Proven skills in root cause analysis and issue resolution
A passion to grow your validation skills within a friendly, interactive and innovative global engineering team
Self-starter with good problem solving and planning skills
Ability to react dynamically to changes in priority whilst maintain process discipline
Desirable: Accredited bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering subject
Desirable: Systems Engineering experience, previous off-highway industry experience
