SOC Threat Detection Analyst

MERITUS are recruiting for a Cyber Threat Operations specialist to join our client within the defence industry on an initial 12 month contract in Stevenage. PLEASE NOTE: The role will be predominantly based on site due to the nature of our client's business.

CYBER THREAT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST - INSIDE IR35 - £81.35 PER HOUR - UNDERGO DV CLEARANCE - ACTIVE SC + BRITISH CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED - STEVENAGE - 12 MONTHS

An opportunity has arisen in the Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) within Information Management (IM) for a Cyber Threat Operations specialist. Supporting the Active Defence & Incident Response Manager in assisting IM in meeting the challenges and demands of countering the Cyber Threat.

Role requirements (skills, training and qualifications)

A career background in Cyber Security. Security awareness and experience in all areas of IT, primarily Network Security, Infrastructure and the secondary area being Operating Systems & Applications.

Demonstrable experience with YARA and Sigma rulesets

Demonstrable understanding of the OSI Reference Model and the network communication protocols, including but not limited to DNS, HTTP/S, SSL, SMTP, FTP/S, LDAP/S.

Hands on experience with IDS/IPS technologies and threat hunting activities
