Hartlepool Borough Council's Safe and Supported Team is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our team. We are committed to protecting children from harm and providing high-quality support to families facing challenges.
About the Role:
You will be part of a team dedicated to:
Providing direct support and interventions to children and families who have been identified as needing additional support.
Working collaboratively with children, families, and other agencies to develop individualised care plans and deliver effective interventions.
Engaging with families, building trust and rapport to support positive change.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
Advocating for the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying their needs and risks.
Develop and implement individualised care plans, tailored to the specific needs of each child and family.
Provide direct support to children and families through one-to-one sessions, group work, and community outreach.
Work collaboratively with other professionals, including schools, health services, and the police, to deliver effective and timely interventions.
Monitor progress, evaluate interventions, and make adjustments as needed.
Advocate for the needs of children and families, ensuring their rights and well-being are protected.
Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.Key Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
Social Care England registration.
Updated DBS check.
Experience working within a Children's Social Care service, particularly in a direct work or support role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands.
