Leaving Care Personal Advisor

• £18 Hourly Rate
• Hybrid Working Arrangement

Blackburn with Darwen Council are looking for two experienced leaving care Personal Advisor's with energy and enthusiasm to join their team. They are looking for people who are able to put young people/adults first and recognise their strengths. BwD need aspirational, positive people to work alongside their existing staff of Personal Advisor s within the Leaving Care Service. As a PA you will need to be creative, caring, passionate and determined.

You will be working alongside a diverse and cohesive team providing support to young people/ young adults. The PA roles will provide support and interventions to young people in or leaving care age 16-25yrs. You will carry out assessment of need post 18 and providing aspirational, practical and emotional support based on the assessment and subsequent co-developed pathway plan.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

1. To participate in the ongoing development of the service and ensure that the team operates in accordance with legislation and guidance.
   
2. To work closely with other agencies to engage YP in EET opportunities and other support.

1. To work with housing and accommodation providers to ensure that young Leaving Care people are placed in suitable accommodation including promotion of LCT supported lodgings in order to support young people to maintain tenancies.
   
2. To promote the initiatives, good practice models of the National Leaving Care Benchmarking Forum.
   
3. To promote and adhere to the leaving care offer.
   
4. To work with young people, individually and collectively to ensure that their voice is heard and through participation, co-production and service development.
