Job Title: Senior Maintenance Technician (Electrical Biased)
Location: Government Office Building
Salary: £33,000 per annum (including On-Call Allowance) – £15.87 PAYE / £19.87 Umbrella
Working Hours: 40 hours per week with variable start times (07:00 – 15:30 or 09:30 – 18:00)
On-Call Rota: 1 in 3, with an additional On-Call Allowance of £147.90
Annual Salary (with On-Call Allowance): Approximately £35,000
Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Technician with an electrical bias to join our team within a prestigious government building. This permanent, full-time role offers a diverse range of maintenance tasks, and will require you to be proactive, flexible, and technically proficient in all areas of building maintenance.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities and systems are maintained to the highest standards, and may be required to handle various aspects of maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and general repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake a wide range of building maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and general repairs.
* Respond promptly to any maintenance issues and ensure all work is completed to a high standard.
* Participate in a 1 in 3 on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required.
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
* Work effectively as part of a team, liaising with other departments and external contractors as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and ensure all required documentation is up to date.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Electrical Qualifications: 18th Edition as a minimum (essential).
* Plumbing Knowledge: City and Guilds or equivalent in Plumbing (minimum requirement).
* Previous experience in a large office building or similar environment is preferred.
* DBS & CTC Checks: A Basic DBS check will be required upon recruitment, with a CTC check conducted by ONS during the role.
* UK Residency: Applicants must have resided in the UK for at least 3 years.
* Drug & Alcohol Test: A test will be undertaken within the first month of placement as part of the critical roles procedure.
* Knowledge of VINCI FM and understanding of the role at ONS will be an advantage.
