Job Title: Head of Adult Safeguarding
Contract Length: Expected 12-month interim contract
Location: South East of England based local authority
Working arrangements: Hybrid working, one day a week on-site
Pay rate: £550 per day (negotiable)
IR35 Status: Inside of IR35
We are supporting a local authority in the South East of England in their search for an experienced adult social care professional with a proven track record as a manager to lead safeguarding team as the Head of Safeguarding.

Your duties as a Head of Service:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Adults, you will be specifically leading on the safeguarding team, in both operational capacity and in strategic safeguarding.
You will promote and establish governance frameworks and audit processes, ensuring learning from SARs and case reviews.
You will lead on the council’s safeguarding policies and procedures, aligning them with national standards and strengthen multi-agency collaboration.
You will lead on multi-agency Safeguarding Adult Board subgroups, enhancing collaboration and accountabilities.
Provide strategic solutions to drive improved outcomes for vulnerable people off the back of monitoring safeguarding performance.
Experience needed as a Head of Service:
Be a qualified social worker with appropriate professional development in this field.
Have experience in leading within adult social care at this level within a local authority setting.
Have advance knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory frameworks and their legislations. Including the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act.
Be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, with the ability to lead teams both operationally and strategically.
