Part-Time Year 5 Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Chesterfield

Location: Chesterfield

Contract: Part-Time, Fixed Term (April 2025 - April 2026)

Days: Wednesday - Friday

Qualification Required: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

Experience: Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6)

A primary school in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 5 teacher to cover a maternity leave from April 2025 to April 2026. This part-time role (Wednesday to Friday) requires a committed professional who can undertake full teaching responsibilities, including planning, assessment, and attendance at staff meetings.

About the Role:

Teaching a Year 5 class, ensuring high-quality learning and engagement.

Planning and assessing in line with the curriculum.

Preparing students for transition into Year 6 and eventual SATs success.

Attending staff meetings and collaborating with the wider school team.

About You:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, particularly in Year 5 and Year 6.

A track record of maximising pupil progress and preparing students for Year 6 SATs.

Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
