Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Cable Jointer to join our team for an ongoing commercial project involving the installation and jointing of SWA cables (Steel Wired Armoured). The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently carrying out cable jointing works on site to support the electrical infrastructure of the project.

This role will involve working with both low and high-voltage cables on a commercial scale, ensuring that installations meet all relevant health and safety guidelines, industry standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Jointing, terminating, and testing of SWA cables as part of the electrical installations for the project.
• Preparing cable routes and working in various weather conditions.
• Assisting with cable pulling, fitting cable glands, and securing cable terminations.
• Ensuring that all jointing and termination works meet required specifications.
• Carrying out regular inspections and maintenance of cables to ensure long-term reliability and safety.
• Working closely with the electrical team to ensure timely and safe completion of tasks.
• Adhering to all health and safety standards, maintaining a high level of work quality and cleanliness on site.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cable Jointer, particularly with SWA cables.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds in Electrical Power, or equivalent).
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documents.
• Experience in jointing low and high-voltage cables.
• Strong knowledge of industry regulations and health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Full driving license (preferred).
• Own tools (preferred).
