Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team working a back shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, materials handling, and basic mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment repair and maintenance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles to transport goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
• Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Utilise warehouse management systems for tracking shipments and inventory.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, including verifying the accuracy of orders.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment as required for loading and unloading tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations and resolve any issues that may arise during transport.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Driver, preferably within a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
• Strong skills in materials handling and equipment repair are desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
• Basic maths skills for accurate record keeping and inventory management.
• Mechanical knowledge to assist with minor repairs on equipment is beneficial.
• A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is essential.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
