Love tackling big planning challenges? My client is looking for Minerals & Waste Consultant to help with a public inquiry on the loss of a minerals wharf—plus a bit of policy work on the side.

💰 £50 p/hr | 4-month contract (initial) | Outside IR35

🌍 Mostly remote (occasional office presence)

⏳ Start ASAP – but we’ll wait for the right person

What’s the gig?

• Be the expert in the room, guiding a public inquiry on minerals and waste.

• Craft solid policy and technical assessments.

• Work with stakeholders, legal teams, and planning pros.

• Keep everything aligned with national and local policies.

What we’re looking for:

✔ Minerals & waste planning expertise (local authority or consultancy background ideal).

✔ Experience with public inquiries (bonus points if you’ve tackled minerals infrastructure issues).

✔ Solid understanding of planning policies & legislation.

✔ A sharp mind, great writing skills, and the ability to work independently.
