Location: Merthyr Tydfil
Salary: £76.98-£85 per day

About the Role

We are looking for a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a dynamic secondary school in Merthyr. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about education who want to positively influence students learning experiences. As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused and engaged with their assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee classrooms in the absence of teachers, delivering pre-prepared lesson plans.
• Foster a productive and respectful learning environment, encouraging active participation.
• Provide guidance and address any student concerns related to their work.
• Implement the school s behaviour policies to maintain a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
• Support teaching staff with administrative tasks and school activities as required.

About You

To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication and organisational skills, along with the confidence to manage groups of students. A proactive and professional mindset, coupled with a passion for supporting student development, is essential.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a calm approach to challenges.
• A solid understanding of classroom management strategies.
• A degree or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
