Student Support Leader

Location: Chesterfield (S43)

Pay: 100 - 120 per day

Role Type: Full Time, Long Term to Permanent

Start Date: Asap

Long Term Futures are currently working in collaboration with a mainstream secondary school in Chesterfield (S43) to appoint a Student Support Leader. The job holder will provide the initial point of contact and day to day guidance and support for students, with a focus on academic progress, and improving student behaviour & wellbeing.

Role Responsibilites:

• Collaborate with the Head of Section and external agencies to identify and support vulnerable students.
• Develop and manage a pastoral support programme for students and their families.
• Take lead in managing the behaviour a year group.
• Lead Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings and contribute to case reviews, conferences and reports.
• Work with the Attendance Officer and Inclusion Room Manager to reintegrate school refusers.
• Provide targeted support to reintegrate excluded students and manage behaviour policies for a year group.
• Undertake home visits to identify barriers to education and support students and families.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and provide reports to external agencies as needed.
• Work in collaboration with the school attendance officer to identify students and family who require support with school attendance.
• Support school-wide activities including learning walks, detentions, and lesson changeovers.
• Monitor students on report for a period of 2 weeks.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff and external agencies.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral role.
• Ability to work effectively with students with additional support needs/challenging behaviours.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to contribute to positive outcomes for students.
